You can change it at anytime and or discontinue service and get another Internet provider.

what type is it? Go to acount settings and look for deactive account try it but I cant rly help you unless I know the mail address type like Google Yahoo Hotmail AOL

Stop going to the e-mail provider to check for messages. Chances are that they will automatically drop your name after 30 days non-use.
