What happened was it was bought by Cedar Fair, LLP (The company that owns Cedar Point and Kings Island). The name changed to Geyuga Lake. The park and most of the same rides are still there. One coaster was moved to Kings Island. So, responding to an earlier answer, Six Flags WAS in Ohio, they just sold the park.

Back in the day it used to be called Geauga Lake. Then six flags bought it for a few years. Now it's Geauga Lake again.
It's a great alternative to Cedar Point. Two parks in one with an amusement park and a water park.
There are never any lines and the park is very clean. We go several times a year and there's never more than a 10 minute wait to ride anything. Even their best roller coasters (some of which are terrific) have little or no waiting.

Six Flags Ohio was purchased by Cedar Fair who reverted the name back to Geauga Lake (the name it had prior to it's purchase by Six Flags).
The park is still there, and is still very much open for business. Cedar Fair renamed all the rides and moved one coaster to neighbor (and another Cedar Fair Park) Kings Island, but I don't believe anything else has changed.

I can't place where this park was, but there is one park in Ohio which seems to have changed operators over the winter. If you can remember the town it was in, then search the web for that town and see what the park is now called.
