Is it normal that the igniter to stay on even though the flames in the oven is on? Something tells it is normal.

Your glo igniter will stay on all the time the flame is lit. The electric current flowing through the igniter is what keeps the safety gas valve in the oven open, allowing the gas to travel up the pipe and produce a flame when it hits the heated element. It's entirely normal.

That depends on the stove. There are ignitors, and there are pilots. A pilot (flame) stays on. An ignitor usually just sparks or glows, then goes off after the cycle is complete. You would have to check with the manufacture for that information. Do a web search under the manufacture and model number. You should be able to find a place that has maintenance instructions posted.
