a few months ago, my forehead and back started to break out.
i first used neutrogena (salicylic acid) on my face, but it didnt really work, so i switched to clean and clear (benzoyl peroxide) and it DID work.
i didn't really use anything on my back since it wasnt that serious, but now it's HORRIBLE! i also have some on my chest. i started to use clean and clear on my back, and its NOT working.
the acne's so bad that i cant even think about exposing it... im really scared that its going to scar!
i've tried to not scratch at them, but its so hard... argh!!
what should i do (i know not to scratch)? will proactive work? would it be likely to scar? anything you went through?
thanks :(

if i were to go to a dermatologist, what would she do to help me?
would it just be medicine, or will she regularly do or apply something onto my back?

so a few things...
1) Be aware of the order that you shower. Make sure to scrub after washing and conditioning your hair because conditioner clogs pores. What I do is wash and condition my hair then clip it with a big clippy while I take the rest of my shower.
2) gently exfoliate to remove dead skin cells that will trap dirt and oil... buy one of those oofahs on a handle so you can make sure and exfoliate your whole back. Don't scrub too hard, you may agitate it.
3) wear cotton bras and t-shirts, make sure they fit properly and aren't too tight.
4) while not scientifically proven to help acne, drink a lot of water! it helped me!
I would def. give proactiv a try... they are a reputable company with a lot of success.
If this doesn't go as planned... it's time to see the dermatologist. Also when you go to the dermatologist, you can avoid wasting time by remembering all the products you tried so they don't prescribe something with the same active ingredient that you already knows doesn't work for you.
good luck, summer is fast approaching!

I've had acne problem over 4 years. I tried everything, of course I went to the DR. about a hundred times, probably not that many, but it sure seems like it. It never did any good for long and caused all kinds of other issues having to do with taking too many antibiotics. I had severe acne both on my face and back and after trying countless of dermatologists’ treatment options, I'd still found myself frustrated by my debilitating acne problem.
I got to the conclusion that Anyone looking for a quick fix solution to acne, for a “magic bullet”, acne pills, ‘acne freedom in 3 days’ hyped up programs is looking to be told fairy-tales. Also, don't ever take the Proactive route, it's just a temporary solution and in time it will make your acne worse.
It wasn't until I stumbled upon the information on this site ( http://bit.ly/Natural-Remedies-For-Back-Acne ), that my life changed completely. I'm feeling so much better now and all of my symptoms are totally gone. I haven't had an outbreak since using that info.
And if you also have any blackheads, excessive oiliness and hyperpigmentation marks or acne scars, then the moves highlighted in here: http://bit.ly/Natural-Remedies-For-Back-Acne will help remove most of these acne related symptoms while restoring your energy and vitality and dramatically improving the quality of your life.
This video presentation shows you some unique and rare tips on how to eliminate acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days! http://bit.ly/Natural-Remedies-For-Back-Acne

if you go to a dermatologist you will most likely be given a perscription drug to take every day and a cream of some kind to apply daily like retin a, duac, etc.
I have found that Murad Acne Body Wash cleared up my back acne in a snap. Proactive is not really that great for those of us with sensitive skin. So I tried out the murad stuff and it help my acne on my bak that I got from the gym and my sports bra. cleared it right up.
There is also a new product line called DDF that I am using for my facial acne. Seems to be working. I think I got both the murad and DDF at pure beauty.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!
Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:
1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.
There is a great website: http://acnehomesolution.com that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

I have an experience I’d like to share that will hopefully help others in a similar position as myself. As someone who’s suffered from acne problems, I’m always on the lookout for new products to help tame breakouts.I have suffered from acne for at least 17 years and was on more medications and creams that I can remember. I have stumbled across the information on this site ( http://bit.ly/Remove-Acne-Fast ) when I started to feel like I was losing it for good. I decided it was time to take action and I did. It has helped me tremendously. After less than a month of following the advice on that site most of my acne was gone.
