WHen I am shooting around I am a great shooter I make most of my shots. However when I'm in a game I make under 50% of my shots IDK why. I think it's just because I have less time to set up my shot but how do I work on this

I agree with the other answers here, however, follow the advice of ray allen. he said that whether you're shooting wide-open or in front of a taller player, your shot should be the same way you always do it. another thing to remember is that work on your form and "just" release. do not think about it. just zero in on the target and move your body correctly. michael jordan said that if your form is right, you can even be shooting in the dark and it will go in.

it's all about two things: eye-hand coordination and muscle reflex memory. look at the basket. not your hands or the release of the ball from your hands. for muscle reflex, practice, practice, practice. your muscles will remember the process and will do it the right way as a reflex, meaning you wont even have to think about it. all you have to do is concentrate on your form.

You should work on repetition. All great shooters have repetition. When you're just shooting around, try having a quicker release each time you shoot. By having a quick release and good accuracy, you will probably be a better in-game shooter.

Also, in the game, even if you are not shooting well, just keep taking the next available look, and don't ever pass up a wide open opportunity.

Practice clutch situations like imagining therrs 10 seconds left and setting up for shots. Playing ALOT emphasis on ALOT of pick up games and work on your overall form. Great form leads to great shooting. Also try visualizing that no one else even exists while your playing, jus you and the hoop. The more confidence you have in your shot the better you'll be

Practice in game situations, your not always going to have time to set up your shot.....practice fadeaway jumpers, cross overs, hook shots, running jump shots, layups etc...Also visualize your shot going in before, you release it
