you see my neice want to put her hand in a pencil sharpiner but i do not know what will happen so could you tell me before she does it.

Then, for the rest of her life she will be able to look at her mangled knub of what was once a healthy phanlange and remember what a saddistic moron her aunt once was, who, instead of taking dangerous items out of the reach of chldren, asks people on the internet about them.
Unless she is grown in which case she will find after a few hours of trying to put her finger in the small hole of the sharpener and failing, she will realize that what everyone has told her her whole life is true: you are dumb, maybe even retarded. That it runs in her family. That they all are defective.

She could get hurt. Safest way to do it is to have her stand in a bucket of water whilst wired up to the mains. Then flip the switch as she jams her finger in the pencil sharpener. Let us know what happens.

Why would you even possibly need any advice to whether or not it would be ok for any child to stick any appendage into anything that has the word "Sharpener" in it?

Letsee...how about you being a good auntie and keeping stuff out of her reach that could hurt her! All sharpeners have razors in them. Finger and razors never turn out well. I would suggest you not watch your niece if you had to ask us in the yahoo community for advice on this!

Depending on what type sharpener it is, it will either really twist her finger or cut it. She must have small fingers to get one far enough into the sharpener to make contact with the blades or rollers.

dorks, is it electric? if so, walk away and dont grind her finger off. if it regular, where you have to twist the pencil. it will just pull the skin off a little. either way you two should go find something constuctive to do.
