If you schedule wisely and prioritize, you have be very successful in both. Use a daily checklist for school, and work for 15-30 minutes steadily, calling friends for a "break" between these work times. Then schedule dates and friend activities for later, when your school work is finished. Sometimes you can even combine the two, like meeting friends for study dates at Starbucks.

It's either you want to work or you want to make friends,it can't be both. I realised that this school year-before,I was focused on my schoolwaork and had few close friends but then when I tried to expand my friend circle,my schoolwork fell behind. I think it is because we go out of our way to please or keep up with our friends and schoolwork gets put on the "back burner"....well I'm learning my lesson now.
