Yes it is god does not hate you like some of these people would have you think. read this verse
John 3:16 For god so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jesus came here for all of us. homosexuality is not a sin adultery is. So yes you can have both, don't let these people that hate and throw stones hurt you anymore. Your soul is yours and gods and it is none of their affair.

I know gay Christians. I think that as a religious gay person, you just have to come to a place where you feel like you have a good relationship with God and be content with that. If you believe that God accepts you as you are, then I think you can ignore those parts of the Bible. Straight people do things that the Bible says not to do all the time, there are just more of them so it's the norm and therefore not considered an issue.
There are also other interpretations of that particular Leviticus verse that take into account translating and cultural differences. The one that I remember off the top of my head is that that verse was actually meant to condemn the practice of male child prostitution, and if we all knew Hebrew and the cultural context that it was written in, we would know that. Just an example of how the Bible can be interpreted, not arguing that that is what the verse actually means.

Religion does not necessarily indicate virtue or character. A mass murderer can be religious.
Leviticus is an extensive book and one could soundly argue that it was written for the Israelites as a society not as a religion. There is some short reference in Leviticus about homosexuality but the book certainly covers much more than that. I also forbids the consumption of many commonly eaten foods like pork and lobster. It details how one can discipline their and trade their slaves, it condemns to death anyone who does not honor the sabbath, and condemn anyone who would curse their parents. No one ever suggests that we follow all of the other rules verbatim. In fact most seem to pick and choose the rules they will follow . Why is so much energy spent on the adherence of this one rule while so many others are simply dismissed?

I am a conservative christian minister and I am also gay. The Bible does not condemn homosexuals in Leviticus, and I prove it on my site.

Many gays are religious...there are parts of the bible that are being discarded, and Levitcus is one of them...written by a feeble old man, long past any useful part of his life...silly, nonsensical. Fundamentalists grab at only parts of this nonsense...they eat shellfish, wear whatever clothing they want, yet scream...homosexuality is forbidden in Leviticus...NONSENSE. You cannot have it both ways...either all or nothing, and this book is NOTHING>

Well i believe that the bible is a bunch of bullshit but that is just me there is nothing wrong with being gay you are born that way i mean homosexuality has been around since the beginning of time they actually have insects that are gay and animals there have recently been scientific studies. So if its your choice to be religious then thats up to you but it kind of contradicts itself.

You can be gay and religious, it doesn't matter except to close minded religious fanatics. I wouldn't listen to the bible, it's a good read and all but how accurate and true is it? People think of it as some kind of manual for leading your life. Be gay and religious, you don't have to be just one thing.

There are several denominations that do not hold the old testament views on homosexuality and such. there are others that embrace the person yet still condemn the activity.
I would recommend that you seek counsel with the local church leaders and find out the specific stance, both by 'mother church' as well as by the community. find the faith that fits your beliefs and can accept you romantic tendancies.

I, like many people, at the VERY LEAST...feel somewhat uncomfortable with homosexuality.
I do believe in God....Jesus the whole 9 yards......(retired Catholic here)
My image of Jesus would be of a man who would embrace you regardless of whether or not you were homosexual or not....Black, White, Skinny, Fat, Cute, Ugly...I could not imagine him turning ANYONE away......
Surviving as a Gay in this judgmental world of today.....must be difficult. I believe they are somewhat forced to refrain from being "open" about their desires.
Unfortunately this subject will divide people for many more decades to come,.....I'm sure.
Hope I helped.
Take care.

Ignore Leviticus - you are probably ignoring most Levitican laws already.
Yes, it IS possible to be religious and gay - works for me as a Buddhist.
Cherry-picking Christianity might be more of a problem.
