I'm not an architect, but I know that BeeJee is right, They are those 'tiny house-lookin' things that stick out of the side of a roof.

Dormers are those small-roofed protrusions that stick-out of
the main body of a building...not to be confused with 'bay windows' although they may 'contain' bay windows.
Embassy Suites look like dormers that include a building.
If an architect signs on here and I'm wrong...I apologize.

Any time I hear "dorm" I think of a college dormitory. Room with beds in a large building that houses many students in college.
