Over the past 3 days, the white part of my left eye has been looking worse and worse. Started out with a small vein-y looking spot of blood in one part of the white area. Over the next couple of days it increased to look as if 3/4 of the white part of my eye is red. If I pull my lid back a little, it looks like there is a thick blood clot on the white part that is hidden by the lid. I have no trouble seeing, and it doesn't really hurt but it does feel somehow different. Is this from broken blood vessels, and what could cause this? I've had no trauma to the eye recently and this really looks horrifying.

A capillary in your eye hemorrhaged and leaked blood under the conjunctiva. If it doesn't start going away in a week or so, see an ophthalmologist. Usually no treatment is needed.
