Why is it when it's your birthday you never want to celebrate it? You act like it's just another day. Nothing special. My husband's birthday is monday and I have already asked him what he wants to do and it's always the same nothing it's just another day. Our girls want to do something special for him but he's disinterested in even recieving a happy birthday. What's the deal guys? Do you really not care or you just don't want to show that you do?

Not all men hate thier bday, just some. Also some women hate thier's also. If he is like me, and has kids, then he probably would appreciate a homemade bday card from his girls, I know that I do.

I agree, birthdays are no big deal to me. However my significant other, or childrens birthdays are are a big deal to me. I would prefer shopping and buying gifts for someone else's birthday, more than receiving gifts for my own birthday.
The best birthday gift I could want for myself would be a hug and a kiss followed by a "Happy Birthday" just to show me you remembered, and then just a regular day after that.

To me it is just another day, so I wouldn't care if my freinds or family did not acknowledge it but they do, and therefore I just go with program and act so happy. So quit asking him what he wants to do and plan everything, and if he isn't doing a good job of acting surprised and that he likes it, yell at him and tell him he needs to put on an act for your daughters!

Yeah, I understand, I used to be the same way.
Perhaps if he doesn't want a present, ask him if he would like to go to his favourite restaurant? What about you and the girls making him his favourite dinner?
But in any event, be sure to do something no matter what he says. Just don't push too hard.

It could be that your husband might say he doesn't want anything, but is expecting at least a little something anyway. I say surprise him like your daughters want to, he might be happy that you remembered his day.

Honey, I have been married for fifteen years, and my man always says he is not interested, and he says what he wants for his birthday and then he says I do not have to buy it for him.

Guess what! I do!!! And he really appreciates it!!!!!

Men do not get as emotional us us women so to them they want us to not think as we do as their birthday is important, but it is, love your man, give him what he wants, and tell him how very much you love him and how very much he means to you and your children!!!!!!

Men are wonderful! They deserve to be treated how they treat us on our "special day"!!!!

no we really don't care. we want nothing. but the real reason is, if you do something super nice than it obligates us to do somethign super nice for your birthday! and we dont' need that kinda pressure...
