I think that in general, the Americans seem to be friendly and positive - that is my perception. I am sure they have their fair share of miserys though - like the rest of us. Their leader is funny but not in a good way .............

I would say al americans that i have had pleasure meeting to date have been very warm and friendly infact i like the amerivcans so much i am thinking about getting hooked up with one and moving over there

They have a different idea on manners to the english. They never say please but the will apologise if YOU walk in to THEM!
So in answer to your question i think the average american is friendly they just dont seem it coz they have different mannerisms

I am English, and I'm sure average American is a decent
person. there are good and bad with every nation.

That depends on the region....the Midwest and East coast...generally"NO"...(I think its the cold weather)......the South and West "YES"...(I think its the sunshine)

Depends who you are.

Generally I have found them very friendly.
In fact they display a level of amiability and frankness that can seem suspicious to my introspective English sensibilities.

But try it in a burqa? No thanks.
