On a large planter that will be sitting on the concrete are you supposed to leave the plug in the bottom in or out? I was thinking in I was afraid it might stain the concrete, but my wife says it will drown the plants. Help...I am lost as usual.

If you don't want to remove the plug, fill the bottom with a few inches of rock and cover with a piece of landscaping material so the soil doesn't pack into the rock. This will allow the excess water to drain down and away from the roots.

Sorry, but your wife is right. Most wives usualy are! jajaja
But seriously, if the plants don't have a drain somewhere, the roots have too much water to soak.
If you're afraid of stains, look for something to place on the bottom of the Planter (like a plate, don't know what shape the planter is or the size it'll have...) Then the water and soil will drain there, and if the plant needs any water between your watering them, they soak it back up.

Leave the plug out and place a saucer under the planter or put it on a caddie with casters so you can clean under it and turn it to keep the growth even.
