Because the same backwards people who said, "If god had meant for men to fly, he would have given him wings" were still around. These same people believe the Holocause never happened(I've seen the ovens!). President John F. Kennedy made it a national mandate to put a man on the moon by the end of the decade in the 60's and by god NASA was going to do just that. Find and rent or buy the Tom Hank's produced miniseries "From Earth to the Moon" and then think it's a hoax!

1. the flag was fluttering. how can it flutter if the're no air on the moon? NASA says it was fluttering because the pole was vibrating.
2. when you speed up the recording the astronauts appear to be walking in the earth's gravity.
3. before you reach the moon you will pass through the van allen radiation belt around the earth.
etc. etc.
NASA has evidence that contradicts the skeptics but some people still believe the landings were fakes.

I'm not saying that the moon landing was a hoax, but it certainly had enough political reasons for the government to fake it. We were in a space race with Russia. They got a Cosmonaut into space first....we couldn't possibly be shown up by them. We HAD to land on the moon first at all "costs". As for the studios....the discrepancies in the moon landing video is the main reason why the hoax theory was introduced.

Most of the folks who claim it a hoax weren't even born then, and haven't paid any attention in History classes. And then they look at sham websites, and without any knowledge of science or engineering or the truth, just blindly accept the pseudo-scientific drivel that is published by the flat-earthers and anti-American nitwits who post the garbage.
And without any ability to distinguish truth from fiction, they buy into the garbage. Pretty sad commentary on the youth of today, don't you think?
But for those of us who were alive when it happened, there is NO doubt. And when our mortal enemies -- the Soviet Union -- congratulated us on being the first to the Moon, it kind puts paid to the conspiracy BS.

Well, one reason they think so is that the flag was waving:) So their question is: Would a flag wave in space? That's just one of the reasons. Some others have been mentioned above.
But personally i believe moon landing was real. After all, it's really not a big deal to do it..
