It is almost as if he is searching to see if I am wearing a bra. It makes me very uncomfortable. Of course it is done under the quise of just being freindly.. what can I do or say next time this happens?

Just politely tell him you're not comfortable with touching. I'm sure others have told him this before. Just do it and get it over with.

If his actions make you feel uncomfortable then the actions are legally sexual harassment. In my experience the best way to get an employer to stop the "back rubs" is to jerk away when he starts that and say "please don't do that". Then immediately change the conversation to something work related. If he asks "why" say either you "just don't like that" or "it is not appropriate". If he doesn't stop then go to the Human Resources department to report him. If you do not stop this he may soon be reaching around the front to be sure you have a bra on.

Years ago I was working at a computer when my boss would come up behind me and do the same thing to me. It started with the shoulder rub, then the back rub, then the hands wandered. Finally he started rubbing his crotch on the back of my chair. I had enough and one day during the 'rubbing session' I swung around hitting his crotch with my elbow. Of course I apologized and said that I just wanted him to look at some work papers on another table. He never touched me again.

Well, if he really is getting a little too...touchy, just firmly tell him that you're not comfortable with getting a backrub from him, especially since you don't know him as well as you could. This might be a little hard to say, and maybe slightly akward, but he'll react depending on what kind of boss he is, and what kind of man he is. You could also say that it's not him that makes you uncomfortable, just the idea of getting a backrub in the first place makes you uncomfortable.

If he aproaches you with more than a backrub, or the backrubs turn into a little more like groping, you can and should file for sexual harassment, because chances are, you aren't the only one being harassed.

Hope I helped :)

That is sexual harassment. It is tough to know what to say because you most likely don't want to make him embarrassed or uncomfortable, but you need him to know you are serious. You could tell him that it makes you uncomfortable, that it isn't him, but you just don't like to be touched. Or everytime he does this, move away, and hopefully, he will get the hint! Good luck!

tell him that him that you are very uncomfortable with him doing that. tell him that you are not a touchy type person . that you don't mean any harm ,but that you would feel much better if this didn't happen you don"t want this to go on , most likely hes doing the same to other women

Ok, that's really wierd. You should people search him and ask other employees if he does the same to them. If they say yeah, I would consider talking to his supervisor. You don't want to give him a chance to do something perverted.

Tell him nicely that it makes you uncomfortable. If he continues after that, go to HIS boss and let them know. That's sexual harrassment and he should know better. Everywhere that I have ever worked has given SH classes so its not like he doesnt know its allowed.

Just ask him, "please don't do that" and let it go. If he doesn't get the message, go to his boss.
There's a law against sexual harassment, and the consequenses can be swift and harsh. If he has 2 brain cells to rub together, he;ll get the message.
"Hello" "Good morning" should be adequate.

Good luck.

Tell him to stop touching you. Nip this in the bud before it turns into a hand full of something else.

That is not good. Make sure he can not reach your back when you greet him. If that is possible.. After a while he will understand.
