How is it the USA needs to import wheat gluten when we're supposed to be the world's largets producer of wheat? Isn't the USA still the "breadbasket" of the world?
Pet foods first -- humans, next?
Just curious.

China actually is the worlds largest producer of wheat, second is India.

sarcastically, convinced it really is more cost-effective for companies in the U. S. that prefer to purchase wheat gluten to purchase it on the global market than it really is for them to purchase it at domicile. it extremely is why they do it. the biggest value of doing company for very almost ANY company is paying workers, and the price of paying them should be exceeded alongside to the buyer of the top product if the corporate is to stay worthwhile. ultimately, the reason products from China value lower than products from the U. S. is because American workers are greedier! (it is not any longer necessarilly a foul difficulty, it really is merely the way it really is.)

China has slave labor.

China has been accused (but never tried) of accounting tampering to lower GNP so that their Yin is valued less than the US Dollar ... it is speculated that they undervalue their currency by 40% ... making it attractive for the USA to import rather than export based off possible lies.

China is one of the biggest loaners to the USA creating unspoken trade agreements.

China is very similar to the USA economy in the 1950's ... or on the verge of major growth through transportation, public works (dam's), and corporation development. Many USA companies are ditching operations in the USA so that they can operate better without enviromental restrictions and less labor restrictions.

Excellent question, we were just discussing that subject.
Is it a case of sending work overseas or lack of the USDA,and USFDA, to enforce what is in the pet food.
Why are we dealing with China anyway?
Good grief, as fond as Americans are of their pets, surely the ingredients would be monitored.
I will be anxious to see the answers on this one. Thanks.
