Most Armenians have managed to melt into the American population while maintaining their values (mostly christian). They are very good people, normal people just like anyone else. The Turkish did indeed try to eliminate them en mass yet, most of the American people don't know this. Why? Because our government chose not to make an issue of it. Also when the Turks and Saddam Hussein were killing Kurds off in the early 80's the US again did nothing but supply weapons. Now that the oil is an issue, Bush finally jumped into Iraq, for all the wrong reasons. Turkey still gets to kill whomever they wish.

I like Andre Agassi. He is Armenian. A great tennis player. Also Christy Canyon the porn star is Armenian. So judging by those two famous Armenians I would say I like Armenians. Let the past be the past. Armenian are all right with me.

I have no problem with Armenians, although I don't think I've ever met one. I know they've been persecuted mercilessly by the Turks and others, quite similar to the way my people have been persecuted throughout history. You Dad was smart to come to the U.S. It's much safer here for minorities like us!

I was in Istanbul Turkey and really enjoyed the people, and their customs. They were very generous with their smiles, and kindness.
I recently began shopping at a small market, here in the USA. After enjoying each shopping event, and the warmth and attentiveness I received, I asked what Nationality they were, as, I liked the accent. They are Armenian.
So, give your dads side of the family a hug for me. Thanks..

Ive only ever heard of them through references in Woody Allen movies - in 'Love and Death' someone tries to commit suicide by inhaling next to an Armenian - but then this movie was set during the Napoleonic Wars.
** edit **
Why the thumbs down - This is a famous quote from one of his movies - the questioner may not of been aware of it.
