Can anyone help me with this?

i just bought Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life Special Edition yesterday and its hella confusing, and all the help guides ive looked at dont help very much. so anyone that can help me, its appreciated. any detailed sites, or whatever works, email, anything that will help me save my sanity. :) THANKS!

help would be especially appreciated with the whole aspect of fishing, i.e. where to get the fishing pole, how to fish, you get the idea.

Generally find out who fishes first. Then give them stuff they like until they give you the pole. That's how you get it most of them. I haven't played that one specifically, I think, but fishing usually goes like this; get the pole by making friends with the town fisherman. Equip the pole and go to the shore, then use it. When the bober goes under, press the tool button again to try to catch the fish. If you catch one you sell it, or in some games, cook it. Everything else is junk, and depending on the game your character will either throw it away automatically, or you'll have to dump it yourself.

Gerneally you need to start by clearing your land. Spend the first few days cutting logs and and breaking rocks. Then till the ground in a pattern like the one below and stand H square. Use your seeds and water them.

H = stand here when planting seeds
N = Don't till this square

What you should do at first is build up money and wood until you can get into livestock. Cows have always been the biggest money maker in harvets Moon games, and the sooner you can get them the better. Just remember you have to have lots of grass both cut and growing, before you can really afford cows.
