Ponting is the best batsman on the planet right now, of course he should not stop playing!Besides, he's captaining a formidable Australian side. Age isn't an issue. Look at how long Border kept on playing. Also, if the Aussies only pick you by the time you're 30 (look at Hussey-debut at 30) one would think you'll have to retire +- at age 36-37.

Since he is playing extremely well, I think he can continue playing for 2 or 3 years more. However, if he wants to quit on
high note, he can retire if Australia win the world cup.
