I would turn in all of my registered firearms so as to not be arrested, then do everything I could to overthrow, by legal or other means, those in the tyrannical government that had trashed our constitution.

And what exactly is your point with the question?

Nothing...This would mean that Congress repealed the 2nd amendment or created a new amendment that allowed this. If this happens there is nothing you could do as the Supreme Court would be bound by the new Constituional amedment...you could waste your time trying for years to sue and reach the Supreme Court but ultimately you would lose.

If you also remember how hard it is to amend the Constitution you would notice this would mean something terrible happened in our country to warrant it.

There have been thousands of Constitutional amendments proposed but after the Bill of rights there have only been 27...

File a suit in federal court declaring the action in violation of the 2nd Amendment, and as exceeeding Congressional authority.

The federal govt cannot legally do that. However, states legally can, becuase (unlike most of the rest of the Bill of Rights), the 2nd Amendment does not prohibit state regulation of firearms. Federal laws and state laws work differently, because that's how the Constitution was set up.

So, the state only has to pay you the fair market value, and it can ban guns altogether. So, as long as they pay, it's legal.

I would be so happy.I think crimes would decrease. After all countries like Costa-Rica, France, China and many others have toff laws toward fire-arm and their crime rate is very low.

Some Red-Necks would say that criminals can use knives, chainsaws or base-ball bat.

With those weapons I know that I still have a chance to overrun him, force him to run after me and get exhaust. With the fire arm I will be the only one that run while the criminal can easily shut my legs before using the other weapons on me.

Problem that thing called the constitution.

That's what I always get when I throw out Hypothetical Questions.

Anyway it would cause a lot of people to run down south set up camp and start firing at the local or federal cops that would tried.

Moving to Switzerland. They issue guns to their men and have one of the lowest crime rates in the world. Most of their crime comes from tourists - go figure.

I'd be laughing at the rednecks who wasted thousands of dollars on their guns.
