No, I feel there are so many other things that need to be addressed before the issue of burning our flag can be addressed. While distasteful, and wrong burning the flag does no real harm, and as a matter of fact unites people against those that do it.

No, no, no, no.
First the proper way to dispose of a used flag is to burn it, not to throw it out or to bury it but to burn it. Whenever I see someone burning the American Flag I laugh because they are treating it properly. It would be worse if they dragged it on the ground.
Second there is the First Amendment. With Freedom of Speech comes the responsibility to not censor who gets to speak. You can't just allow those that you like to have the freedom to speak, you have to also allow the other side their chance to speak.
I may not like it when someone burns the flag but it is a legitimate way to protest. Besides most of the people burning our flags are outside of our nation and we have no control over them.
Besides if they don’t’ burn the flag then they will find some other way to be objectionable, at least burning the flag doesn’t hurt anyone.

Why?! Military does it all the time when their flags get old and replaced. Why should civilians be treated any different? Other that the fact that you and others find it offensive.
Want to resolve your issues and anger with it happening, which ever nationality is burning your American flag - get a group of your buddies and get the news media and the flag of their country/nations and torch their flag.
Besides there is a lot more to get resolved in this country than banning the burning of flags. e.g. Like what are you doing to put a stop to the Fleecing of America by your own government? I myself want to ban wasted spending at the tax payers expense. I sent my representives to Washington to do just that. Not take advantage of a situation to spend tax payers money on naming buildings after themselves. Not spending money on the thickness of ketchup. Not spending money the flavors of Earl Grey Teas. Not for pork barrell or earmark spending. Think of how much more money America would have had if not for all those types of stupid "project" spending. Focus your energy and rage on that type of banning instead of burning flags.

This question is hilarious.
While I abhor the idea of anyone wanting to burn the flag, the one thing it stands for as a "symbol" is the American ideal of real liberty, rather than the European idea of "structured liberty"; so in essence, making "flag-burning" part of the Constitution would violate the Constitution! Why do so few Americans seem to understand this?
If you think about it, the Constitution GRANTS rights, it doesn't take them away! The last time the US Constitution was amended to take rights away (the 18th), it wasn't long before it had to be amended again (the 21st) to restore those rights!
Americans should all be required to study their Constitution and it's history...immigrants are required to do so!

No.
The Constitution is meant to be a document describing and limiting the powers of government. It is not meant to be used to prohibit individual behavior.
Besides, Constitutional amendments should be used for important, serious issues. Flag burning may evoke a lot of emotion, but it really has no effect on our country beyond giving politicians an easy "distraction issue" every few years.

Absolutely not.
A protester can treat the cloth of our flag with utter contempt and disrespect, but in order to do so he has to use the very freedoms it embodies.
To suppress the messenger is to fear the message. Our nation need not fear some angry kid with a lighter.
The cacophony we call the United States of America runs on freedom of expression. As viewpoints are quelled and things quiet down, the flag and "the Republic for which it stands" mean less.
I don't want to hear about anyone who claims to have served the flag, or whose relative died for it, etc. You don't serve cloth and you don't die for cloth. You serve and die for what it represents, and we're doing just fine.
Leave Constitutional amendments for the big stuff. Protesters with lighters aren't it.

Is the importance of banning flag burning on a par with the importance of the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom for the slaves, the enfranchisment of women, or the right to own a gun? If millions of people believe it is, then perhaps a flag burning ban should be tacked onto the consitution.

No. The flag burning issue is just a smoke issue politicians use to distract people from the important issues. Also gay marriage is a similar issue.

Don't need one. Most jurisdictions have laws against open fires, against public endangerment, against disorderly conduct...
This police state defends your right to burn the flag. You just can't do it, for environmental and public safety reasons.
Here's a question: If you burn the flag as an expression of your dissatisfaction, how I punch you in the nose as an expression of mine?
