Watching all the programs on Court TV - the DNA, the forensic stuff... it would make me think twice before I did something - not that I would, anyway. I'm a bit of a coward, you see.

And...we now have the reason that these programs exist.
Actually it is easier to commit a crime now than it was 20 years ago because the police depend on these things to solve the crimes for them. Plus if there is no forensic evidence then the "reasonable doubt" in the minds of jurers is much higher than it was 20 years ago.
However, that having been said, it doesn't mean you can be sloppy about your crimes. Gloves, good masks, don't use identifiable weapons, eliminate any security surveillance first. Don't kill gratuitously. and don't brag about your crime. In other words ALL crooks who get caught are stupid.
