I've been receiving emails, mostly from the UK, stating that I had won their lottery! Yeah! Right! Three days ago I received one from Coca Cola and the British-American Tobacco Co. in London, England and this morning stating that they're Microsoft. Yeah! Right! However, when these try to con a con, wanna be gangsters, use a name like Coca Cola and Microsoft, I believe they should be made aware that their names are being used for illegal activities. My email will not forward the messages to Coca Cola or Microsoft without the @ part added to it. Or I just don't know how to do it. Please Help!

Forwarding the email on to corporations like Microsoft, Coca Cola, etc... will accomplish nothing. Just about anyone who has used email has received a SPAM letter like this and forwarding it on to the company that the SPAMMERS fake the letters from is pointless. Microsoft and many other software vendors are working on methods to reduce SPAM but coming up with a method that everyone can agree on is quite difficult. One thought would be to essentially charge per email sent but as you can imagine, most Internet users wouldn't go for that option. Other methods could be implemented but they all have pros/cons that need to be worked out.

At this point, just delete the SPAM email and get on with life.

I don't think anything would be accomplished by contacting the companies who's names are being used. It happens all the time and they are aware of it. To avoid annoying spam I use a filter offered by my interenet service provider (Earthlink). Only people that I have added to my address book can e-mail me and all other mail goes into a seperate file that I check once or twice a week.

In case you still want to contact Microsoft: It doesn't seem that Microsoft has an email contact listed on their website. What they do have is a contact form that you fill out on their site.
