They think it is okay to lie if they can make money at it.

"There is no proof tobacco causes cancer"
Notice that they are against assisted suicide, yet what is selling tobacco but assisted suicide, and don't get me started on the birth defects it causes...

Why are you assuming that conservatives support tobacco? Your premise makes as much sense as if I said "Why do liberals support tobacco" Politicians on both sides of the aisle have supported government subsidies of tobacco.

A conservative doesn't support tobacco. He supports liberty. The freedom for a smoker to consume a product of his choosing and for the grower to sell a product for which there is a demand.
