It's an very bad example of politically inflated bullshitt. If mission really had been accomplished back then the troops should have been brought home right away but no, here were are years later and things are as bad now as they have ever been. It is without a doubt a very stupid thing to have said because there was no truth in it, but to a politician lies are the same as truth so in a way he was right.

It's hard to say. I personally don't include Dictator Dumbya among the list of "presidents" since he was NEVER elected, but including him in for laughs, one can be sure he WAS the source of the stupidest pronouncement, WHATEVER it might be. There are SO many to choose from!

No, I think that "I'm the decider and I get to decide" tops it. Some people just don't get it that we have checks and balances. Or at least, we are supposed to have them.
