I don't know too much about him as a politician, but as a veteran, I think he's amazing. And that's tough for me to say as my father was a medic in the Vietnam war, but he wasn't on the side doing the bombing, and even my dad has respect for me.

I believe McCain made a fool of himself this weekend by attempting to show improvement in the neighborhood of Baghdad by walking through with out a helmet but at the same wearing body armor with a security force of 100 on the ground accompanied with three Black Hawk Helicopters and two Apache helicopters. This seems like an expensive exercise not to mention putting several of our armed forces at risk for this demonstration of how safe this neighborhood is.
If it is safe why are these extraordinary measures needed?
I know I will not be voting for him after watching the coverage of his propaganda shoot.

Yes you cannot discount a guy who endured being a POW.
But that doesnt make them a good politician.

McCain is a good guy but doesnt always have the issues prioritized.
When he ran during the 2000 elections, his big cause was his campaign finance reform bill. Polls showed that campaign finance reform wasnt even on the charts for what concerned people , he also didnt have very strong support for it in congress.
McCain still wouldnt drop it though. And something more watered down got passed which really didnt accomplish much of anything.

As Senator of Arizona you haven't seen him take much action, or really heard much from him, regarding Immigration issues.

Add to that that he is in his 70s now.

I like the guy but I am skeptical of him as a solid presidential candidate.

John is truly one of the ruling elite. He will say whatever the polls tell him to and vote exactly the opposite.
We in Arizona voted him in because he made noises like a real Conservative (not the Bush kind), only to find he was all over the board. He ahs been one of the worst Senators on Veterans issues. I wouldn't vote for him to be Dog Catcher.

Too old and senile.
We call him the wanna be pirate boy!

He did say last week that some parts of
Iraq are safe to walk thru the neighborhoods...
I'm really looking forward to SEEING his
clips from his visit to Iraq next week with
NO armor protection, NO bullet proof vests
(Like the ones Condi wouldn't get caught without
wearing for her photo ops in Iraq)
or guards walking down the safe neighborhoods...
that I can't wait to SEE!

I've voted for John McCain many times. I admire his military service & sacrifice. However He is just too old to go for the Presidency. Let younger candidates have a chance with their better stamina & health.

John McCain is a liar. I wish he has the courage to walk through the neighborhood of Baghdad as he mentioned in this interview.

Amnesty McCain,
Banana head McCain.
Flip flopper McCain.
Take your choice.

And as for being amazing for being a veteran, gee thanks, better include me in on that, and millions of other vets.

John McCain went through hell as a POW and has made a success of his life. As a politician he is too liberal for my taste and so will not get my vote.
