I am so tired of all the bashing, especailly between Red Sox and Yankee's fans. I am a die hard Red Sox fan, but can appreciate some of the Yankee's players, Joe Torre (sp?), and thier many wins. I have been known with my friends to make fun of the yankee's a bit, but am the first one to admit that, that is because they have been good. Doesnt anyone objectively look at baseball anymore? How often do you hear a Yankee's fan say... Ortiz is Great, or Manny is great etc.... I can say that Jeter is an excellent player, and Matsui (SP?) is another great one. I also have GREAT respect for Joe Torre. I guess Im just tired of all the immature fans!

I have a very healthy respect for alot of Boston Fans. I have met some here on Yahoo and I have to day that they are some of the best people I have met on the web.
I think Ortiz is an awesome player, one I would be proud to have in the lineup any day of the week

and I agree I do hate fans like that. I do not hate the yankees. I hate the arrogant and obnoxious fans. Because of yankees everyone else is having to overpay ( ie Zito). Or you would be seeing Zito in yanks uni this season.
I know they have 26 rings I do not need to hear it everyday.
dodger fans for example. They said Schmidt was washed up and Gagne was the next coming of christ. Now they want Gagne to be stripped of his Cy young and give it to Schimdt ( because now schmidt is good? even yahoo ranks him higher)
And now they say Gagne is on roids. These dodger fans think everyone sucks until they put on Dodger blue. Gives whole new meaning to the term HOMER.

I am a HUGE Bosox fan, and I think the Derek Jeter, Matsui, Damon and Wang are phenomonal baseball players. I don't hate the Yankees because they're bad, I just don't like them because they're incredibly good!! I have respect for most, if not all Yanks and their fans, because they're just doing their job.

The other team is always the opponent, not the enemy. Opponents, by nature, are respected and not hated.
Do I abhore the obnoxious fans who can't tell the difference? Absolutely. Do I also abhore the "we" fans (you know the ones I mean - what can WE do about the GM? why did WE not bunt here? why can't WE trade this bag of used balls, plus the 25th man on the roster, to get so-and-so (All Star player)?) on radio call-in shows? Even more so.

if by obnoxious fans you mean yankee fans, then yes i'm tired of them. they think they are so great, but they only win games because they have a massive payroll and can pay any amount to any player they desire. if they had the marlins' budget, they'd be garbage

Baseball, & the love of it is entirely subjective, it transcends reason & logic & rides on a tide of emotion. It's OK to respect enemy teams & their players, but don't deny us "immature" fans our right to dislike other teams because they are rivals.

I have to admit that when I see a "fan" being obnoxious and rude about another team or continually typing "Der-ek Je-ter" they lose credibility in my eyes.
I am a baseball fan first, Detroit Tiger fan second. I do not like to see a team being bashed. I find myself wasting too much time looking at alleged questions and find it just a bashing of another team or someone supposedly asking a question when they are just looking for confirmation on their beliefs.

i agree. i'm a mets fan in jersey with lots of nyy and bosox fans. i get in the middle of it sometimes and its annoying !
