i mean ive seen lots of very thought provoking,interesting questions which have not been starred simply because the asker dosent have a little fan club.wheras the people who have fan clubs come out with silly questions which ok they are funny but dont really deserve a star.

I think the star system should be scraped. Especially as you say, it's a favouritism thing.

It's all about personal choice- I enjoy humour and also questions that mean something to me subjectively- I like fashion, beauty and science, art and literature. If a question was asked about engineering or mechanics- I might not be interested- however, plenty are- let the people choose- as to fan clubs- well if people enjoy something- it might well become a fan club- which popularity and enjoyment are part of. Who cares about stars and points? It's not school- who gets the most stars etc- can't we escape the playground here as we are mostly all adults?Come on here to learn, be inspired or simply be amused. There are no rules- except be polite to your fellow human beings i'd say- be rational and fair.

I post thought provoking questions sometimes .. but they get only a few answers. I don't get many stars either. I have no fan club.
..but thats life .. don't let it bother you...
people are here to have fun, act like children and relax ... and thats their right.
and there is a clique or two ... and that is also their right .
Like it is your right to moan about it ...!!! so don't let 'em shut you up ;-)
for what its worth ... again...I totally agree with your point about the stars and the questions ... but am I bothered about the fan clubs ...? no..

it is people's own individual choice to star something or not- a star is for someone to show that they find it interesting and then someone else can look at what else they have starred if they like the question too. I don't think it means it has to be particularly intelligent- if it makes me laugh then I'll star it and anyone else who likes it can see what else I have starred!

not everyone is here to engage deep thought provoking questions... i don't think it has anything to do with having a fan club, but even if it did, the y!a team has made that possible with the new contacts feature. i mean, how many people are here to compete and how many people are here to find real answers to their serious questions and how many people are here just for the interaction? the point is you can't please everyone all the time. you just can't.

Does it really matter who gets a star and who doesnt? Its not as if it really counts for anything. Its just a chance for the popular people to show off. Lol.

I asked basicly the same questions last night.
Another thing is people who say "I want 100 answers"
Two of the things that simply bug me, maybe for no good reason, but it does. . .
