I had to borrow this nissan maxima from my stepdad until i got my car back from the dealer, and that day the car was working fine. This morning i tried turning it on and it wouldnt start. The radio turned on so the battery was ok. The oil level was ok too, and there was no clicking noise so i dont think it was the starter. I checked the coolant and it was all empty. Do you think that if i put coolant in that would turn the car on or could there be more problems than just that?

of course it isn't good to run any engine with low coolant, however unless the engine got real hot, that probably isn't your problem, but, go ahead and add the correct coolant, an 50/50 coolant is good. Usually there are two main reasons why a engine won't start; fuel or elegiacal current. I would pop the dist. cap and check the rotor for burn ware and the cap for cracks and brunt contacts. It could be you coil. Also it could be the fuel pump or even the fuel filter.

How long was it out of coolant? And was it hot (steeming over) when you parked it. Your car isnt starting from low coolant, its not starting because you need a new batt. Then you need to add coolant. If you got the head to hot on your car you might be in need of a head job. I am sure u will be able to get it going, most the time its not to big of a deal.

No coolant won't keep the car from starting if everything else is ok.. It won't start because the lack of coolant toasted the engine.

everyone here that said no to your question is flat wrong.
if for some reason it drained back and filled the cyclinders up with it it would not start and it would not turn over.
But not going to be your issue sence you can not here the starter relay click. seems yoou have a voltage or a starter issue

Radios only use about three amps.
Starters use two hundred amps.

Get a jump start, or a new battery.
