Any liquid that, when combined with oxygen, and ignited will work. If water "burnt" we would all be in trouble. We already have gasoline and diesel but finding another fuel has been the main problem. As for battery acid, power is produced from a chemical reaction between two different types of metal and the acid. By the way, liquid does not "burn", fuel vapor in the correct air/fuel mix does.

You can run it on what you want providing you have fitted an engine that runs on your choice of fuel. The internal combustion engine as we know it will only function on volatile fuels which expand when heated and provide the power to drive the pistons. This also applies to engines that will run on methane or other gasses.Electric vehicles do not need a liquid fuel but do need recharging or fuel cells being fitted. The world's supply of oil is finite, and it will not be all that long before petrol or other hydrocarbon fuels will not be available.Scientists and chemical experts are working on this now as the big oil companies will need an alternative fuel source to market in years to come in order to stay in business.

What Ho Frankie.
My car works fine on refined oil seed rape extract, with a touch of ethanol bunged in. Say 10%
In fact, it goes better than the silly price of garage petrol.
OK, it is a fairly big V8 thing, but I'm sure that it would be happy running a smaller engine.
We also have not only the advantage of legally beating the tax-man, but also the exhaust fumes smell of popcorn.
Most interesting !
All the Best,
Bob

How about acid? Acid is the liquid in car batteries. When a battery is charged, the acid holds the electron charge and sends it through the metal plates, through the wire, and then to the motor. When the battery is dead, the acid is still there but the extra electrons are gone.
Fix up a battery system in a battery operated car that will allow you to quickly and safely exchange the acid that doesn't have a charge to it, with acid that does have a charge in it. The old acid can be recharged very easily and then used to refill another car.
And that is my dumb idea of the day. :-)

there are other liquids such as methanol, whisky, but they are all dearer than petrol, petrol is the cheapest fuel you can buy to run an internal combustion engine, however the japs have been working on a fuel out of orange peel, it works but again too expensive,

they are still not very popular..i means cars that run on other liquids..the people are still testing/experimenting and evaluating them.besides that, the liquid which are able to make cars or any vehicle run can't surely be safe, fast or reliable enough..the people are still working on it..

Because you need to make combustion to make the things inside the engine go around to pwer the wheels to make the car go.
