I asked a question about game hunting and someone mentioned they eat rattle snake (in preference to duck or deer).
Is this common?
What does it taste like- and is it hard to prepare (or do you just chop off the head)?

Rattle snakes are the preferred species for consuming. Prepared properly, cooked over an open fire, they are very delectable. Yes the do taste similar to chicken but their meat has its own, unique flavor. Its texture is a bit tougher than chicken and it has a bit greaser exterior.
Try some sometime!

I have heard that snake tastes like chicken, by several people that are hunters. I never had it myself. I don't think it is very common because snakes usually give some people the creeps. =)
