I've been on bedrest since 23 weeks because I was starting to go into preterm labor. I'm almost 100% effaced yet thankfully I haven't begun to dilate.
As of my last dr's appointment my little guy is heads down and according to the dr my spotting and whatnot is because he is "right there" pushing down.
My first pregnancy was normal. What I've been experiencing this time around is my lower back and my hips... good gawd, they pop and click and crack almost like something is broken.. Sometimes I wonder if something in my lower back is the sounds are that loud. Is that normal at all? Like I said with my daughter I didn't experience this at all. So my first thought is that it may just be my body getting ready but im not too sure. Any ideas?

actually yes it has been causing me pain. i should probably add that.
its to a point where its not my belly that makes it hard to me to get up or move around. its the cracking and pain in my lower back and hips that literally takes my breathe away and makes it hard to move. I can sit up from lying down and then crack, horrible pain... I probably should've added that

i just had my second baby 6 weeks ago and before that i had the exact same thing. I never found out what it was really but i think it was your hips and groin area just streching and getting ready for the baby. i hope nothing broke because it sure felt like it. good luck and second baby birth is a lot better than the first. so dont worry

I think the popping and cracking has something to do either with your pelvic bones or your hip bones, moving around as birth approaches. It doesn't sound like it's causing you pain so I would try to just bear with it. I'm glad you are at 30 weeks - every day baby stays in he is getting stronger and more ready to meet you.

If this persists after the birth then you could maybe see a specialist or chiropractor.

Best of luck!
