WD-40 is ok but it won't last that long. Silicone spray will last longer.

Get a can of W-D40 and liberally spray the hinges, springs, handle mechanism, any moving parts. Open and close the door over and over and continue to spray any areas that still squeek. Rust and debris builds up inside hinges and this will tend to "wash" this out and lubricate it as well. Clean up with mild detergent and wet sponge. This may only last for a few day. If the sqeeking returns, try some lithium spray grease. It is not good for flushing the debis out, but the lubrication will stay in place much longer than w-d40. Lithium spray grease is more expensive than w-d40 though.

Lubricate the hinges with WD-40 or 3-in-one (sewing machine) oil. Pay attention to the closing piston, also. If that's squeaking, you may want to adjust the closing speed by backing off the screw no more than 1/4 turn. Lube the pivot points of the closer, also.

WD-40, spray it on and your problem should be fixed. You can find it at any hardware store or stores like Kmart and Walmart for less than $5.

You can use Vaseline, although WD 40 will do a better job.
