thank's to everyone, I wasn't expecting nice answers. I realized that the people who told me I was dumb because I am bad at math, aren't good at math themselves, and I realized that math isn't everything, I am good at ALOT of things, but I was made to believe that none of that matters, only math matters.
I think because of the high standards that were put upon me,caused me alot of anxiety and fear, They have told me I was bad for many years, which brained washed me into thinking there was no hope. They labeled me with the "bad at math" label. they tell me
" Your just not good at math, and there's nothing you can do about it."
I am so afraid I will get the answer wrong, that I actually draw a blank, it's fear, not stupidity. I think this alone has solved alot of my math issues, it's funny where you get your inspiration's isn't it?

most people struggle with math. It is a different way of thinking, very abstract for many people. You have to work hard at it.

No. Everyone has subjects they are good at and others that they suck at. Math might not be a subject you are great at but it just means you need to work more and focus on math than your other subjects.
For example I was doing great at math always getting A's or B's until this year I'm in geometry. I have never gotten an A or B on any of the tests we have taken all year. Its not that I slack off... its just sometimes everyone has a weakness in a certain subject that no matter how hard you study, you just don't fully understand it.
But you should still study because you'll eventually get it.
If you don't hire a tutor or ask some smart people for help.

Hi Sugar,
Math can be fun and one of your favorite subjects.
This simple exercise can turn everything around for you.
When you're not going to be graded or criticized, grab a pen
and paper, and just "play" with numbers. Like write down as
many pairs of numbers that add up to 10 (1-9, 2-8, 3-7, etc.).
Do the same for 20, 30, 40, and so on. Pretty soon, you'll be
enjoying math because numbers will be fun. Multiplying can
be fun the same way.! And no, Sugar, you're NOT stupid.!!
Play with your numbers--not your food, OK??
[..remember, too, little kids learn fastest when they're playing..]

No you are not stupid, of course. Some people have a brain which is "wired" to easily understand math, and some people do not have this wiring, so understanding or feeling easy with math is part of how one's brain is constructed.

Generally speaking (and this is not a sexist comment) - men's brains are more often wired to comprehend math easier, and women's brains are somewhat less wired to comprehend math.

But, I personally believe that until one gets to very advanced mathematical topics, such as calculus, almost all people can be taught to be comfortable with basic math principles and skills. Some people need a different approach, and some additional practice, until they reach that point of comfort and understanding. If you feel lost at math in school, please tell your teacher that you need some extra help, and maybe a different way of looking at it, than just the material they are using in your math book and math class. The earlier you "get comfortable" with math, the farther you will be able to go with it, and the happier you can be with the subject.

Maybe you could ask one of the "math brains" you go to school with to help you understand? When I was in school, it made me feel very good to help someone to understand some math issues, and I will bet that you can find someone like that who would be very happy to spend some time with you to help you understand it better.

Hope this helps!

Never fear, I was bad at maths and now I work in a bank. Muah ha ha. We use caluclators! If you're bad at maths I bet you are good at English though right? I may be bad at maths but I have an Honours degree so I can't be that dumb.

Seriously though if you aren't great at it don't worry because you are good at other stuff. If you are seriously bad at it though you may want to consider getting a work book or something so you can brush up at your own pace.

No, you are not stupid because you are not good at math. I bet you are really good at something else. I have a friend who can't do math at all but rox at the arts. She is so creative and cool and there is NO way she is stupid. Trust me, there is more to life than math no matter what other people may say, and i happen to be good at math and would rather be horrible at it!

No,you're not.I'm bad at math but I'm doing great at school.People sometimes come to me.The important thing is,find the thing that you're good at.Life is not all about math. And people cant classify you as 'stupid' just because you have a little weakness.Cover your weakness with something else.

--its good to know that I'm not the only person who dislike math and figures--

Math is one of many subjects. You probably have talents in other areas. The fact that you are not good at one subject does not mean you are stupid.

Inability in math may be down to poor teaching or lack of a satisfactory learning environment. There are many aspects to consider.

I would never call anyone stupid, just because they don't have good math skills,
Cause that same person is probably smart in something else. Like me I'm good in math but very bad in spelling. So my ansure to you is don't worry about the math .

Do not believe any negative words about yourself. Think positive. Look at math as a challenge. If thee are areas in math that you do not understand, ask someone for help and practice, practice, and practice until you are confident you understanding about math comes to you as second nature. Always seek help. One place is yahoo answers.
