hello- I was looking for 2 books called
"criminology:the core" & the study guide to it, by larry J.Seigel-2nd edition. I had the ISBN's as 0-534-59914-0 and the other ISBN is 0-534-59914-1- Amazon had no matches for
those ISBN #'s. I went to a site that compares prices-they had these
ISBN#(above)- Since I like buying from amazon.com so I went back and put in
the title there and the exact title I was looking for came up same picture
same everything except ISBN# !!! so i took those ISBN's#(below) to 3 other
books sites & the same exact book comes up "Criminology: the core"-so it
look like the same book comes up with different ISBN#'s -have you ever heard
of that?

yes, i do inventory work, and we do bookstores sometimes,,, in the inventory we must scan each book individually, as the exact same book can have different isbn #'s, i am not exactly sure why, will have to ask them next time, but i would assume its batch or publication date differences

If these are the same book and some are not for the study guide, the usual explanation is a different edition or different publisher. The problem is all the ISBNs you've given are longer than they should be. ISBNs are 10 numbers long.

The 5346 designates the publisher so they are all the same publisher. Please note that the ISBN's you were given have a different publisher (5345) so either the ISBNs you were given are wrong or you are looking at a book with a similar title and not the one you want.

yes. They are most likely different printings. It's probably an older book, and once they sold all of the first printing, they did a second one, which required a new ISBN.

yes, there are obviously two different editions of the same book. that is, they were published in different years. the isbn is different if the second edition of the book is published in another year or at another printing house as the firt edition.
