I poted a question earlier about hooking up a wireless router for my laptop. The guy said I need a USB wireless Adapter. Does it just plug into my laptop and works? I dont need anything else?

If you already have the router, it may have come with a usb adapter. If so, use that. There is also another alternative if you are using a PC laptop for getting connected. There are PC cards that allow you to connect to a wireless router. Some newer PC laptops also have wireless cards built-in. My guess this is not your case.
Macs nowdays come with wireless built-in, so if you have a newer Mac just use your network configuration utility to connect. If you are using an Mac laptop more than a couple of years old, you may need a USB adapter.
Once you figure out the way you want to connect, you need to make sure the standards for each component match. For example, a Wireless A router probably wont work with a Wireless-G router. Wireless-G is going to be your best bet for compatiblility, since most of the time the component is also backwards compatible to Wireless-B. As long as the standards required match on both ends (router/adapter), you should be able to plug, configure and play. Configuration should only take about 5-10 minutes, if that. maybe you already have wifi on your laptop, of not, this is orrect, you do need a flash wireless usb adapter, usually inventel make them, it should work, but make sure you do have a wireless router.

you plug all different types of hardware it to it.. mouse/keyboard, hard drives, memory sticks, printers. cameras, and many more things,
to make it simple for you to understand a USB is a type of plug socket. Just like you do with the electric plugs at home,

it adapts to usb ....j/k .. yeah it just plugs in and hooks u up ..
