It might sound like I am trying to be funny, but this is a serious question! I get severely constipated (I can only go twice a week). I work out regulary, eat a healthful diet, drink plenty of water, and have seen a doctor about this, who replied I am "naturally that way". Does anyone have some foods that help (besides Fiber- I eat so much already) or natural laxitives I can try? Sorry if this question was too gross.

Slow down and take it easy , when you tense your mouth dries and your hearts beats faster your bowels stop as well, tension is at the bottom of your constipation.

As all have said, eat more fruits and vegetables. If you can, chew them slowly into smaller pieces. Food fiber helps stimulate the colon inner walls, speed up the intestinal wriggling movement which help discharges the waste smoothly. You may have drunk plenty of water but is it sufficient for your body? The 2.5 litres a day is a guide and the required amount depends on what activities you do for the whole day. You may have to drink more water than 2.5 litres if you are involved in strenous activities. The way to drink water should be taking a sip every 10 to 15 minutes so that you keep your body hydrated but do not need to go toilet too frequently.
The function of the colon is to suck back excess water in it. Therefore, if possible try not to delay when there is an urge. Delayed going to toilet will result the faeces become dry making it very difficult to be forced out.
There may be a possibility that your colon walls are clogged with stools and only the centre passage is through. You may have to do high fiber organic fasting or enemas to dislodge the clogged stools.
You may email me for further info.

It is not a funny or gross question, **** doesn't just happen!. Is this recent or have you always been like this? Are you uncomfortable? Many people do go three days or so without having a BM and that is normal for them. If this a new thing for you may want to have your BM tested for occult blood. This is a simple and painless test and a first step to discover if there is more going on in there. If you get very uncomfortable a dark karo syrup and and milk enema may do the trick and it is safe and natural. It sounds like you are doing the right diet. It probably would not hurt to ask the Dr. about Metamucil.

Try colace, Senna Gen, or Milk of Magnesia. Follow the directions on the bottle. All three are over the counter remdies available at any pharmacy.
You can try drinking a tablespoon of mineral oil or vegetable oil. Drink bottled teas that include "sorbitol" as an ingredient.

You can also take all six together, and drink a lot of water with it...in nursing, we call that "a brown bomb".

Are you getting enough oils in your diet? This happened to my niece when she was 12 and the Dr. told my sister to give her a tablespoon of veggie oil, olive oil, or caster oil in the morning, midday and before bed every night until she was able to go. She hated it but it worked. She now has a salad 2 times a week with extra italian dressing for the oil. Goodluck

I sympathize with you. My father in law eats shredded wheat, but my rememdy is fruit juices. Walmart has a Great Value grape juice that is really concentrated. One glass of this stuff and you will be tooting away. I used to keep it in the fridge at my mother in laws and I warned my brother in law not to drink it or he would have to go. He did and then he was in the restroom a while.

It's not gross, it is a health question! Try this: Take a tiny sliver of soap and put it where you want the poo to come out. I did this for my grandson, when he was just really SICK from being constipated. He couldn't go, he turned off color, he was hurting badly, and totally in pain. A sliver of soap and he went just fine. He's a happy grandson, now.

Microcirculation in your lower abdomen could be slow...
Prepare an herb pouch - about 3"x5"x1/2" works okay - microwave it for 1 minute, and put it on your lower abdomen area. If you don't have herb pouch make one out of cotton, fill with soybean or mugwart. Works very good.

There are many many people on this earth that are just like you...Unless you are experiencing discomfort, don't worry.
If you are, you might induce by taking a mild laxitive that works gently overnight....You run the chance of throwing your body functions out of whack...If you induce.
Good Luck
