Sorry this is not funny to me, both of my parents, my best friends, are dead now and I miss them everyday, while they were alive and I had no real idea of what thier death would mean to me I might have been able to had some silly thoughts like this and it not bother me. Now I say to all of you all out there, cheerish your parents because you never know what might happen in life, they will not be here forever and that is a certainty, but no one really ever has another promise of tomorrow no matter what, we can only do our best to survive and get up in the mornings and make that the best day that we have ever had. Tell your parents, or show them everyday by doing something to make them proud of you, that you love them, if you can. I think we still have to do that even after they are gone.

As you do not set out the circumstances, I will assume that you mean you are in a situation where you are faced to be able to resque just one of your parents, with the risk to loose the other.
In that case, you need to resque the parent that gives you the best option to possibly return for the other parent, regardless of the gender of the parent.

I would choose my mom because she is a part of my life and she is always there when I need her. unlike my dad where he is never around and I barely see or talk to him if any at all. But lets hope that that will never happen.

to have to choose for anyone to die, one person over another, would "mess" with most peoples minds,,,,,, its ingnoring reality to assume that all have a connection equally to their parents, many dont,,,,,

I'm not sure. I'm not too close with my dad, but am too close with my mom, she drives me nuts sometimes. So, I'd say, well, I don't know what to say. I guess I can't answer that question....
