there may be a voltage drop problem,or a battery thats not taking a charge.for test see what alt is putting out a battery post of the alternator with a good meter,it should read 14.2-14.5 volts, than check athe charging output at the battery,it should be 14.1-to 14.4 volts if you have a larger voltage drop i.e 13.5 you have a problem with the main battery wire to the alt or a bad sensing wire.test the battery with a load tester at 1/2 of cca voltage for 15 sec,it should not drop below 9.4 volts.your static voltage should be 12.2-12.6 if below that your battery will proably fail,so you need to make sure battery is fully charged before you do the test.

i own a repair shop ,and try some of the things I'm going to recommend to you ,first check the water level in the battery and make sure there all full, and all at the same level, then check all the connections, make sure none of them are corroded or dirty, and make sure there all tight also, then make really sure the ground wire off the batter is going to body ground and to the frame of the vehicle,if all of this is ok then it may just be normal for it to be doing this, but usually when they start acting like this it means the alternator is getting weak on it,and will soon need to be replace, good luck with it i hope this helps.

Dang Lost a diode in the alt

Totally common and you better get it fixed before you get to buy a battery too!

Some shops repair the old alt(preferred)

Do it yourselfers get the rebuilt one from a parts store, just un hook the negative battery cable before removing the alternator or get zapped and burn up wires

My guess would be a loose connection.
When you give it gas the engine "torques" to one side pulling or moving a wire just a little bit causeing a bad connection.
