Iran wants western civilization wiped off the face of the earth. How do you negotiate with that ideology?

You would think that liberals would have learned this lesson by now.
In the 1970s their high priest, Jimmy Carter, came to power with the idea that meeting others with Christian virtue would solve the problems of the world.
Guess who demonstrated the error for him? The Iranians, of course. Taking advantage of his well-intentioned unilateral renunciation of the use of force, Ahmadinejad and his fellow terrorists seized American diplomats as hostages. They yanked President Carter around, daily offering promises of hope, then pulling them away. The Iranians proclaimed to the world that America had become a helpless giant, and under Carter this was quite correct.
Carter's impotence led the Russians to gamble that they could invade Afghanistan and get away with it, and they did. This destabilized that country, setting in motion the chain of events that led to 9/11.
You'd think that, of all people, Carter and the Democrats would have drawn from this the lesson that there IS evil in the world, and that it needs to be confronted, not appeased. Sadly, I'm afraid, they have not.
And he who fails to learn the lessons of history is doomed to repeat them.

When they stop looking at the polls and return to reality...terrorists don't like us...and for some reason i think that if the liberals get the presidency they will realize that the terrorists will still hate us regardless. Being "politically correct" isn't necessarily correct---shouldn't be afraid to step on toes.

Its that age old saying from WWII. First they came for the gays and lesbians and no one said anything. Then they came for the mentally ill and no one said anything. Then they came for the Jews and no one said anything. Then they came for the Catholics and no one said anything. And then they came for me and no one was left to say anything. The libs don't realize these are the same terrorists who had links during WWII to the Nazi's through Yassar Arafat's uncle. They will not stop until we stand up and resist. We waited too long in WWII and saw millions die.

you dont but that doesnt concern ms. pelosi. shes looking at democrats in 2008 and will do whatever it takes literally to get there. hopefully the liberals will wake up soon or god help us all.

I suppose when you are dealing with a sovereign nation you treat them like they are a sovereign nation regardless of their ideology. You first try to settle disputes equitably. Or you create and continue to live in a state of chaos.
