Politicians prove their incompetence minute by minute, day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year. Yet people still think these clowns offer them a better future than their own free will. Why?

Because it's easier to hand the responsibility to someone else and then sit around and complain about things.

In short, people are stupid and lazy.

It is a lot easier (and you dont have to get off your duff) to believe someones promise to solve your problem. If they fail , well "It's their fault". Politicians know that they can fail to accomplish a lot by throwing an extra buck or two to the public and it'll fool them into voting you in for another term. We proove that theory all the time and en every venue.
The voting public is basically ignorant of issues, the powers of the public servants. We are easily led.lied to, gulible, bribable. We are sheep who think we are wolves. Armchair fighters.
We need politicians with integrity, honesty and forthrightness. We don't need leaders who can speak in tongues, out of both side of their mouths, or any who see only one side of any issue, who have an ingrained ideas on issues, are easily led by beaurocrats.
Am I asking too much?

I don't have any problems personally. Politicians are incompetent, but crumbling under the pressure and refusing to participate makes the public just as incompetent.

Ease of blame, same problems different names. Political followers are just that, never face reality of real life issues and blame the "other" side.

Politicians are people, like you and me, and, generally, believe in public service. Democracy is not perfect, but, if you get active in your community, I'll wager your opinion will evolve.
