Can I use Scotchguard on Synthetic Suede?

I see the Scotchguard website says not to use the product on suede but this synthetic suede is made of cotton and polyester. Just wondering if the Scotchguard will ruin the texture? It should be fine for cotton and polyester according to the website.

Spray a small area on a part that doesn't show and wait for at least 24 years and see how it did.
