MP4 is the shortened name for MPEG 4, which is a compressed video format (DivX and XviD are based on it, and its found in some Quicktime movies, among other places). (DVDs use MPEG 2).

an mp4 allows to see the video clip and store it in a mp3 mode wich is smaller then the real size of the song
