I'm 32 weeks pregnant as well and I just had a doctors appointment and asked about it. Trust me it's perfectly normal. She said alot of first time moms don't even feel there braxton hicks. She told me when she was pregnant she had no pain with her braxton hicks. I wouldn't worry about it at all. Congrats on your pregnancy, good luck and God bless.

Yes, Braxton Hicks are supposed to be painless. It is not normal when they are not. If they start to feel achy, take extra calcium. I have had 4 kids and my Braxton Hicks were all painless, and usually the first 3-4 hours of labor were painless too. I started feeling Braxton Hicks as early as 8 weeks along.
The prenatal classes I took taught us that Braxton Hicks should be painless.

It's not usual, no, but it's possible. While most women don't describe bh as very painful, you do feel the cramping, like a menstrual cramp.

What you're describing is how the first 7 hours of my actual labor happened - I didn't even know I was in labor until I was reading a book with my hand resting on my belly, and I noticed it getting hard like a basketball and then getting soft again. Didn't feel anything at all, although I had felt bh contractions before.

The thing that identifies b.h. from "real" labor is the persistence (real labor doesn't go away if you take a bath or a walk) and the regularity (real contractions are fairly evenly spaced at first - bh are all over the place.)

Go take a walk and time your contractions - from the start of one to the start of another - for the next 4 or 5 contractions. Is it pretty regular and even? Then call your doctor, this could be real labor.

yes braxton hicks can be painless. i had that when i was pregnant. remember to tell your doctor everything that you experience. you know when i was in labor i didn't even feel the contractions. that was before the medicine. it's just that your body is getting ready for the big day. now if you're water breaks then go to the ER...congrats on the baby.
