The first answer is correct (darn, I was beaten on the draw!), but this is just a little trivia from the same site: 'The series was cancelled when Jack Shepherd refused to continue in the title role after the producers would not reinstate Jimmy Yuill (Det. Insp. Doug Kersey), who had been ill and had to be written out of what became the last series, even though he fully recovered.'
