I mean if you care about fiscal conservatism, that is the only party left to you. But if you want to be a religious fanatic who tries to dictate what people can do in their bedrooms, then by all means remain a Republican.

What did Reagan do. Let's see after losing the 76 primary to Ford, he worked to reestablish the conservative principles to the Republican party. I'm going to do the same.

I think you have a very narrow view of Republican issues. The Libertarian party to me is a do nothing party. Government the was it was designed is to step in at points to make life better or at least now allow anarchy. The Libertarian policy of almost anything goes is so out of step with the writings of our founding fathers. And religious issues are such a small part of the platform - Do you see any thing in the Constitution and the basic tenants of our country that relate to crime, foreign policy, immigration, education, etc. Well that is where I look to for a party to make a difference. And fiscal conservatism overall does not cover avenues that only the federal government can cover in this multi-layer system of government we have. So the feds must spend on certain areas that the Libertarians have no idea are basic tenants of government. And to me your comment on the south is an attack on them, what do you see that as some racist area. I have lived in the north most of my life and see far more racism here from people of both political parties than what I hear from my southern friends. And as a final point why would I support a party that has no chance of electing a representative especially when they don't even run candidates for the majority of state and local offices. I might as well create my own party then I have more of a chance of seeing office than Libertarians do.

Yes, they should. I was never a Republican and I'm from New Jersey and I'm a Libertarian. It truly is the last party of fiscal conservatism.

Swampy, I am neither a religious fanatic nor do I try to dictate what others do in the bedroom. I am a proud Republican. Most Republicans are like that and have no intention of abandoning our party as you suggest.

I really hope you will keep what happens in your bedroom strictly between yourself and the other occupant(s) thereof.

However, while I can see voting o/s the Republican party, I am not pro-drugs other than marijuana legalization ( I don't smoke but do agree that one is idiotic.)

Libertarian seems more 'anything goes' outside of fiscal conservatism and it doesn't actually seem to have any sort of unified agenda, but legalization of all drugs seems high on the agenda it does have.

Your assessment of conservatives is ignorant. Homosexuality is against nature. Whomever made humans made it so that a man and a woman must be the only way to reproduce. You cannot change nature.

Libertarians are generally clueless as to the international threats we face. They also do not get the impact of morality on society.

You have one point: Republicans have not been fiscally responsible

Brilliant strategy to drive these folks... well heck I don't know where you are trying to push them, but obviously not towards the libertarians. Most don't even know what the libertarian party stands for.

I don't think anyone should be joining the libertarian party. To much fanaticism.
