similar radicls have the same radicand

similar radicals are radicals with the same radicand like 7√3 and 3√3. They both have √3, so they can be added.

and when we multiply complex conjugates (which are unreal numbers), the answer is a real number.

example: (5 + 3i)(5 - 3i) = 25 -15i +15i - 9i^2 = 25 - 9i^2 =

25+9 = 34
