To register the copyright of my song composition, should it be recorded on CD or written in musical notes?

Thanks to intervention by congress, only the written notes qualify for copyright in the USA. Old copyrights based on recordings are defective retroactively. A recording cannot be used as the evidence of publication for any purpose.
