Uh, hello...... Turn off CNN and get some news from the field. The number of military and civilian deaths has dropped since the surge began. It may work in the end. It may not but it one thing to be able to say that you really did everything you could do to help bring freedom to 23 million people instead of cutting and running.

the surge hasn't started yet.
but I saw an article stating that the Sunni would now be allowed to hold government and military positions again. whereas the biggest portion of the conflict seems to revolve around Sunnis and Shiites maybe this will quell some of that violence. And if it does, I bet GWB will claim it was the Surge that made the difference.

The USA can add 250,000 more troops and it won't matter because we lost the war of hearts and minds.
We can stay 10 more years and it won't get better because there is no victory plan.
