i think nowdays its not rampant, you would have to look at individual situations,,,, and yes i am sure it still occurs sometimes, its much more subtle nowdays,,, and doesnt occur as much in government or large businesses,,,,,but in general society and smaller businesses,,, yes its still there.. the baby boomers who are the middle age, were not very prejudice to begin with,,, so that, with forced segregation, has slowly changed our nation,,,,, also the opposite can occur, blacks who have moved into higher positions can discriminate against whites,,,,,, for some odd reason they seem to more do that against whie women,,,,,,,, i guess a white male is still more valued then a white female,(i work in a black female dominated workplace,, so perhaps my view is slanted on it)
but yes, as a white woman , i still notice it, in shops, a white person behind the counter will offer to wait on me, before the black who was there first,,,,,,,,,, or the black person will ignore me and wait on the blacks first,,,,,,

There is always going to be instances where people of all cultures are discriminated against. The whole specifically african american discrimination topic in my opinion is a group of (not every african american) people who for some reason or another feel the need to blame white people for holding them down/back. I feel if you have the will and determination to accomplish what you want in life, you can and you will do so. I think that these specific groups of people need to quite talking about poor them and start working for what they want. If you let things get in the way of what you want they will. If you work hard and believe you can do the things you want to they will become a reality. This is my opinion and I am interested to see if any one can prove that them being black had anything to do with what they wanted to achieve.

There are instances to prove just about anything people want to prove not only in the US but in every country. If the instances are blown out of proportion by the media it seems much more rife than it actually is.

I seem to remember some footage of some white policemen beating the crap out of Rodney King during the 1992 LA riots.

there is discrimination all over the place in america. not just towards blacks, but many ethnic groups and even economic classes of people get discrimination. it is much more subtle now vs decades ago, not so much in the open. it is better but not resolved.

No, only people of all ethnicities that choose to be lazy uneducated outlaws are discriminated against, Not, I repeat NOT blacks nor any other races as a whole, with the exception of the brainwashed morons that follow race baiting extortionists and Islamo fascists...

it's not just the blacks,
put it this way,the message I keep reading from society is this: now-a-days if you're not caucasion ("white")
you're not an American
THERE IS SOME RACISM IN EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US...WHAT MATTERS IS HOW MUCH OF IT WE ALLOW TO SURFACE

Yes, but If there is discrimination, courts will provide damages to those who suffer from that.
It is our law.
